Ousmane Dembele linked with Manchester City after agent meets club official
France forward of Malian descent, Ousmane Dembele, has been linked with a possible move to English Premier League giants Manchester City next summer.
According to a source, the French winger’s agent recently held talks with an official from Manchester City.
Moussa Sissoko, who represents the Paris Saint-Germain star, met with Hugo Viana, the Premier League club’s sporting director. The meeting has sparked fresh discussion about a possible transfer involving the French international.
Although the next transfer window is still some distance away, top European clubs are already preparing their strategies for the coming season. Manchester City’s leadership is believed to be exploring various options to strengthen the squad as they aim to maintain their competitiveness at the highest level.
The reported meeting formed part of the routine interactions that frequently take place between agents and major clubs across Europe. Nevertheless, the contact has fueled speculation about what could happen with Dembélé in the future.
The winger remains under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028, and the French champions have already begun assessing the possibility of extending his deal. However, current discussions between the club and the player’s representatives have reportedly not progressed smoothly, prompting the agent to evaluate alternative opportunities.
Dembélé enjoyed an outstanding campaign last season, emerging as a central figure in PSG’s attack and eventually claiming the prestigious Ballon d’Or. His performances made securing his long-term future one of the Parisian club’s key priorities.
Manchester City have traditionally favoured wide attackers capable of stretching defenses and creating decisive moments in one-on-one situations. Dembélé’s pace and technical ability would fit naturally into a system that often relies on attacking play from the wings.
While there is no indication that formal negotiations have started, the meeting between Sissoko and Viana is widely viewed as an exploratory discussion ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Officials at the Etihad Stadium are also aware that any attempt to sign the French star would depend on several factors, including the financial demands of the deal and the sporting considerations involved.
For their part, Paris Saint-Germain are not expected to make any potential departure easy. Should Manchester City decide to pursue the move seriously, they would likely face complex negotiations and a significant financial commitment to secure the winger’s signature.
