Ousmane Dembele boost for PSG ahead of Chelsea Champions League clash

Former France international Jerome Rothen has revealed that Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele is expected to be available for Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League last‑16 tie against Chelsea.

The first leg will be played at the Parc des Princes on 11 March, and Dembele’s return would be a huge lift for Luis Enrique’s side in a season disrupted by injuries.

“Dembele will be at the return match against Chelsea, but as for Ruiz, it’s worrying,” Rothen said, pointing to wider concerns inside the PSG squad. He explained that the dressing room feels “a bit unsettled” and tired, even if the players continue to show fighting spirit and cling on in difficult moments.

In his view, some internal issues remain “not encouraging”, making leadership even more important.

Rothen highlighted captain Marquinhos as a crucial voice, saying the defender is there to “wake them up” when levels drop.

If Dembele is indeed fit to feature, PSG will finally be closer to full strength at a key stage of their title defence, with his creativity and one‑on‑one threat potentially decisive over two legs against Chelsea.
