Ousmane Dembele a doubt for PSG’s UCL clash against Bayern Munich due to injury
France forward of Malian descent, Ousmane Dembélé, is a major doubt for Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich on Tuesday after picking up a suspected hamstring injury.
The reigning champions are set to host the German giants, who have maintained a perfect record of 15 wins across all competitions this season, in a crucial Matchday 4 fixture.
Dembélé featured as a substitute in PSG’s dramatic Ligue 1 win over OGC Nice on Saturday but appeared to be in discomfort following Gonçalo Ramos’ 94th-minute winner.
The French winger was overheard telling teammate Achraf Hakimi, “It hurts, it hurts so bad,” while clutching his right hamstring.
According to L’Équipe, Dembélé reported to training at Campus PSG on Sunday morning, but the club’s medical staff remain cautious about his fitness.
PSG are reluctant to take any risks, especially after losing Désiré Doué to a severe thigh injury against Lorient that will sideline him for several weeks.
As a result, Dembélé may be rested for the clash with Vincent Kompany’s in-form Bayern side, as PSG look to preserve their attacking options for the remainder of their Champions League campaign.
