Mamelodi Sundowns captain Denis Onyango has set sights on reaching the CAF Champions League final this season.
The South African giants will face Al Ahly in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at the Cairo international Stadium on Friday.
Despite playing out a 0-0 draw in the first leg, Denis Onyango insists his outfit ultimate objective is to reach the final of this year’s competition.
“Our goal is to reach the final, and everyone is eagerly anticipating it. Of course, it would have been easier if we had scored at home, but it didn’t happen. They played very compactly: five defenders and a tight midfield. I think there will be more open space in Cairo than in Pretoria,” Onyango told iDiski Times.
The Uganda international has made 20 appearances across competitions for the South African outfit, conceding eight goals and keeping 12 clean sheets.
Onyango has been playing for Sundowns since 2011 and was part of the squad that secured the 2016 Champions League title.
