Adam Kayed targets Confederation Cup final with Zamalek

Zamalek midfielder Adam Kayed says his outfit ultimate objective is to reach the final of the CAF Confederation Cup as the team gears up for the semifinal showdown against CR Belouizdad.

The Egyptian giants will travel to Algeria for the first leg showdown scheduled for Friday night at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, with kickoff set for 9 pm. With a place in the final at stake, anticipation is building for what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.

Speaking during pre-match conference, Kayed acknowledged the magnitude of the challenge but made it clear that Zamalek’s ambitions remain firmly intact.

The midfielder has, however, declared his outfit determination to secure a positive result against CR Belouizdad.

“The match against CR Belouizdad will be tough and difficult for both teams, but our goal is to achieve a positive result and qualify for the final,” he said.

Kayed also highlighted the significance of fan support, pointing out that while Belouizdad will enjoy home advantage backed by a passionate Algerian crowd, Zamalek equally boast one of the largest and most devoted fanbases across Egypt and the Middle East.

“Belouizdad has a large fan base in Algeria, but the same is true for us. Zamalek has a huge fan base, and we are striving to make them happy,” he added.

The winger further revealed that preparation has been thorough, with the team leaving no stone unturned ahead of the crucial first leg. From tactical analysis to intense training sessions, the squad is fully focused on executing their game plan.

“We have studied our opponent well, we are training hard, and everyone is aiming to achieve a positive result in the first leg,” Kayed concluded.

With the return leg set for April 17 at Cairo International Stadium, Zamalek will be eager to return home with an advantage. As the stakes rise, Kayed’s message is clear—the White Knights are ready for the battle and determined to take a decisive step toward continental glory.
