Mozambique coach Chiquinho Conde says his outfit upcoming clash against powerhouse Algeria is the most important game in the country’s history.
The Mambas takes on the North African giants in the sixth round of the qualifying series on Tuesday night.
Algeria currently sit top of Group D on goal difference after triumphing over Botswana in the fifth round of the qualifiers last Friday.
Tied on points after five games, both teams will be yearning for maximum points to better their chances of securing World Cup berth.
Ahead of the game, Chiquinho Conde has promised to deliver three points against Algeria to better their chances of World Cup belt.
“The match against Algeria is very important to maintain our chances of playing in the World Cup, and it could be the most important match in our history.”
“The match will be different, and will not be completely similar to the last one we played against Uganda in Côte d’Ivoire. The level will be extremely high.
“I promise our fans that we will do everything in our power to return from Algeria with the three points. We carry on our shoulders the dream of an entire nation that wants to see their national team play in the next World Cup” he concluded.
Mozambique is seeking to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in their history.
