Orlando Pirates coach Ouaddou opens up on title chase

Head coach of Orlando Pirates Abdeslam Ouaddou has said that the destiny of his outfit securing the South African Premiership is in their own hands.

The Soweto giants cruised to a 3-0 win over Magesi FC at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium to strengthen their chances of the securing the South African Premiership.

Currently, Orlando Pirates are second with 65 points while table toppers Mamelodi Sundowns have 68 with a game more.

“I think we will retain the last one. We are focused on ourselves. The destiny is between our feet. We just focus on how we want to play, how we want to be organised. You can see a strong Pirates,” he said.

“We don’t concede goals, we score goals. So, I just ask the boys to focus on how we want to play.

While this season’s race is close between them and defending champions in Mamelodi Sundowns, Ouaddou said they have their eyes and ears closed on the performance of other teams.

“We don’t expect anything from anybody. We are focused on our team. We are really confident about what we want to achieve. We feel strong, and we are going to prepare for the next game with a lot of focus in front of our fans, and we will give everything,” he said.
