Ghana head coach Otto Addo continued his preparations for the 2026 World Cup by paying a personal visit to Leicester City teammates Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, reinforcing his hands-on approach as the Black Stars shape their plans for the global tournament.

Addo met both players during a period in which they have played central roles for Leicester City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Their consistent performances have underlined their importance not only to their club’s promotion push but also to Ghana’s ambitions on the international stage.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has enjoyed a standout campaign, combining creativity with end product.

The winger has registered five goals and seven assists across 24 league matches, regularly influencing games with his pace, direct running and decision-making in the final third.

Jordan Ayew has matched that goal tally, scoring five times and adding three assists, while offering experience, leadership and tactical discipline in attacking areas.

Leicester City now turn their attention to a demanding league fixture against table-toppers Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena this weekend.

Both Ghanaian internationals remain firmly in contention for the matchday squad as the Foxes look to close the gap at the top end of the table.

Addo’s visit formed part of a wider strategy aimed at building unity and reinforcing standards within the Black Stars setup.

The Ghana coach has made player engagement a priority, choosing to connect directly with key figures across Europe as he lays the groundwork for the World Cup cycle.

In recent weeks, Addo has already held discussions with several other Ghanaian internationals, including Abdul Mumin, Mohammed Kudus, Kwasi Sibo, Ernest Nuamah, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Mohammed Salisu.

These meetings reflect a deliberate effort to create strong bonds and align expectations well ahead of competitive fixtures.

Ghana will next assemble on March 30 for an international friendly against Germany in Stuttgart.

The match will provide an important test against elite opposition and offer Addo an opportunity to assess squad balance and combinations.

Following that fixture, the coach will release his final squad list for the World Cup, which begins on June 1.

The Black Stars will compete in Group L, where they will face Panama, England and Croatia, setting the stage for a demanding but defining challenge in their quest to make an impact at the 2026 tournament.
