Othmane Sehabane appointed new chairman of USM Alger
In an official statement, the club’s management said, “Following the meeting of the USM Alger SSPA-USMA Board of Directors held today, Saturday, at the Sarbor Port Services Complex, it was decided to appoint Othmane Sehabane as chairman of the board, succeeding Kamel Hassena, who resigned from his position.”
The statement also conveyed the gratitude of the Sarbor Group, the majority shareholder of the club, towards Hassena for his efforts during his tenure.
The board expressed its appreciation for Hassena’s contributions and extended their best wishes for his future endeavors.
The Sarbor Group, in its congratulatory message to Sehabane, assured him of their full support.
“We congratulate Othmane Sehabane on his appointment as chairman of the team SSPA-USMA and assure him of our complete support to help elevate the club to its rightful status,” read the statement.
In his first remarks as chairman, Sehabane outlined an ambitious vision for the club, focusing on strategic player acquisitions to strengthen the squad.
“We will immediately start recruiting high-caliber players who can drive the club towards achieving the goals set by the Sarbor Group, with the primary objective being the Algerian league title next season,” Sehabane stated.
He also emphasized the importance of bolstering the club’s administrative and material resources to ensure professional operations.
This includes a dedicated focus on youth development, which he described as the future and main reservoir of the team.
Sehabane committed to overseeing the completion of the club’s training center and ensuring that it meets its deadlines.
Moreover, Sehabane pledged to enhance the matchday experience for USM Alger supporters, ensuring they are well accommodated during games.
“Our fans are integral to our success, and we are dedicated to providing them with the best possible conditions to support our team,” he concluded.
