Victor Osimhen’s first-half equalizer earned Galatasaray a 1-1 draw in their Europa League fixture against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday.
The Nigerian striker, who has been in fine form this season, took his tally to three goals in four appearances in the competition and nine goals in 11 matches across all competitions.
AZ Alkmaar had taken the lead just two minutes into the game through Sven Mijnans, who found the back of the net early, giving the Dutch side a promising start.
However, Galatasaray responded in the 43rd minute when Osimhen rose above the defense to head home a perfectly delivered cross from the right flank, leveling the score before the break.
The result leaves both teams with a share of the points as they continue their campaign in the Europa League group stage.
