Moroccan winger Osame Sahraoui has stepped up his comeback from injury, rejoining full team training at LOSC Lille after nearly three months on the sidelines.

The 24-year-old’s return marks a significant moment for both player and club as the Ligue 1 campaign enters a decisive phase.

Lille confirmed the development on Friday, sharing footage of Sahraoui being welcomed back by teammates with applause and a guard of honour at the training ground.

The gesture reflected not only his popularity within the squad but also the relief surrounding his recovery from a troubling fitness setback.

Sahraoui had been absent since January after undergoing surgery to address a persistent pubis issue that had plagued him for months.

The problem initially surfaced in early 2025 and lingered despite attempts at conservative treatment, including rest and medical supervision.

Ultimately, the discomfort worsened to the point where surgical intervention became unavoidable, ruling him out of action at the start of 2026.

Before his injury-enforced break, Sahraoui had been a regular feature in Lille’s setup. He made 23 appearances across all competitions, contributing one goal and two assists while offering pace and creativity on the flanks. His absence was keenly felt, with the winger missing 15 matches during a demanding rehabilitation period.

Lille have managed to remain competitive in his absence, currently occupying fifth place in Ligue 1 with 47 points from 27 matches. However, the race for European qualification remains tight, and Sahraoui’s return could prove timely.

The club sit just two points shy of the top four, with a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League within reach.

His reintegration into full training now raises hopes of a return to matchday squads in the coming weeks, providing Lille with an added attacking option as they push to secure a strong finish to the season.
