Egypt U-20 coach Osama Nabih has billed Thursday’s clash with Morocco as more than just a semi-final, it’s a battle that feels like a final.
With a place in the African Youth Cup of Nations final at stake, Nabih says his players are calm and confident after securing a World Cup ticket.
“This match feels like an Arab final,” he said. “Morocco is strong and well-organized across all levels.”
Nabih praised his squad’s spirit, highlighting their readiness to carry Egypt’s hopes forward. “We’ll defend our dreams and fight to continue chasing the African title,” he added.
Reflecting on the tournament’s draw, he noted Egypt was lucky to avoid an earlier showdown with top teams like Nigeria, South Africa, and Morocco—all of whom reached the last four.
The coach acknowledged how tough the journey has been but praised his players for rising to every challenge.
Midfielder Ahmed Khaled added that morale is high. “There’s a real desire to make Egyptians proud,” he said, as the young Pharaohs aim to book their place in the final.
