Osama Kajo joins Gezira SC as Egyptian winger begins new chapter
Egyptian winger Osama Kajo has joined Gezira SC on a free transfer from Eastern Company, adding the experienced 35-year-old to the club’s attacking options.
Kajo, who plays on the left wing, agreed a contract with Gezira SC running until 30 June 2028. The move brings his spell with Eastern Company to an end after almost four years at the club.
The Egypt-born player joined Eastern Company from Proxy FC in September 2022, also on a free transfer. He had previously moved to Proxy FC from El Dakhlia earlier that year, continuing a series of transfers between Egyptian clubs without a fee being recorded.
Kajo’s career has also included spells with El Mareekh, Cleopatra FC, Ismaily, FC Masr and El Makasa. His time at Cleopatra FC began with a loan move from Ismaily in January 2018 before he returned to the parent club at the end of that season. He later joined Cleopatra FC permanently in July 2018.
The winger’s most recent competitive record includes appearances in both the Egypt Cup and the Premier League. He played twice in the cup, accumulating 114 minutes, and made one Premier League appearance, featuring for 18 minutes.
Kajo’s move to Gezira SC gives him a new club after several seasons spent moving through the Egyptian game. His latest switch is the sixth free transfer recorded in his career, following earlier no-fee moves involving FC Masr, Proxy FC and Eastern Company.
The transfer was completed on 12 August 2026, and Kajo is contracted to Gezira SC until June 2028.
