Orlando Pirates winger Relebohile Mofokeng turns down offer from Russian outfit Akron Tolyatti
South African international Relebohile Mofokeng has turned down an offer from Russian outfit Akron Tolyatti to stay at Orlando Pirates.
The 20-year-old attacker has been at the center of intense transfer speculation following an impressive campaign for Orlando Pirates during the 2024/25 football campaign.
Mofokeng performed admirably for Orlando Pirates last term, scoring five goals and providing eight assists in 26 appearances in the South African top-flight.
Akron Tolyatti had made an offer in the region of $1.5 million to capture the signature of the South African youngster, but Mofokeng flatly turned down the move.
Despite expressing readiness to pay huge to sign the forward, both the Pirates and the player himself insisted that the transfer was out of the question.
Earlier, media reports suggested that Mofokeng had drawn interest this summer from clubs such as Al-Ettifaq, Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Minnesota United.
Mofokeng has yet to feature in the South African Premier League this season, hut made three appearances in the MTN8 Cup competitions.
Since making his debut for South Africa, the attacker has made nine appearances without scoring or making an assist.
