Oswin Appollis' agent denies Al Ahly, Porto links

Glenn Penkin, the agent representing South Africa and Orlando Pirates winger Oswin Reagan Appollis, has downplayed reports linking the enterprising attacker to Egyptian giants Al Ahly and Portuguese side Porto in the current transfer window.

Appollis, who has been in a top form for Orlando Pirates was heavily linked with a move to Al Ahly, Porto and several other top clubs.

However, Glenn Penkin, has firmly rejected such reports, Glenn Penkin, insisting no official approach has been made by either club.

“Neither Al Ahly nor any other Egyptian club has contacted us, and negotiations with Porto have not yet taken place to sign Appollis,” Penkin stated.

Despite dismissing the rumours, the agent did not completely rule out the possibility of a future move away from Orlando Pirates, noting that the coming weeks could be decisive if concrete offers arrive.

“We have to wait and see what will happen in the coming weeks when we actually receive offers from any club,” he added.

Appollis has emerged as one of the standout performers for Orlando Pirates over the past season. The South African international featured in 43 matches across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists.

The winger also represented South Africa national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he made four appearances before Bafana Bafana were eliminated from the tournament by Canada.

His performances at both club and international level have continued to attract attention, with many expecting interest from European and African clubs to intensify before the end of the transfer window.
