Newly promoted South African Premier League outfit Orbit College are close to securing the services of attacker Monnapule Saleng in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old winger is joining Orbit College on a season-long loan from Orlando Pirates ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign. Saleng will be reassessed by the parties involved at the expiration of his loan deal at Orbit College.
Saleng was excluded from the Orlando Pirates squad half-way last season following a conflict with the club’s leadership, ultimately leaving him on the fringes at the club last season.
The winger’s last appearances for the Buccaneers was back in December 2024, when his outfit locked horns with Al Ahly in the CAF Champions’ League group stage.
Saleng boasts a record of 70 appearances, 25 goals, and 17 assists, having helped the team secure three MTN8 trophies and two Nedbank Cup titles. He previously played for Orbit back in 2019, the very club where his professional journey began.
Meanwhile, the attacker made just 13 appearances across competitions last season for Pirates, scoring five goals and providing two assists.
He made his debut for the South African national team in June 2021 and has since made 10 appearances without scoring or registering an assist.
