South African club Orlando Pirates have announced that they will travel to Spain for a pre-season tour in July.
In an official statement from the club on Monday, June 23, they indicated that while pre-season preparations will commence on June 27, the team’s trip to Spain will be on July 8.
While in Spain, Orlando Pirates will play several friendly matches against European clubs, including Granada and Las Palmas.
“Pre-season preparations will officially kick off on June 27. As part of preparations for the upcoming campaign, Orlando Pirates will embark on their third consecutive international pre-season tour to Marbella, Spain. The training camp – set to run from July 8 to July 20, will see the team engage in high-level friendly matches against European opponents including Bolton Wanderers (England), Pafos FC (Cyprus), Las Palmas (Spain), and Granada (Spain),” the club announced on its website.
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates have confirmed the appointment of former Moroccan international Abdeslam Ouaddou as their new head coach.
He will be assisted by Mandla Ncikazi and Rayaan Jacobs, Helmi Gueldich and Tyron Damons.
