Orlando Pirates name starting XI for Betway Premiership title defence against Kruger United

Orlando Pirates begin the defence of their Betway Premiership title against newly promoted Kruger United on Tuesday evening, with both sides confirming their line-ups for the meeting at Mbombela Stadium.

Pirates arrive at the league fixture after a busy weekend in the MTN8, where they beat Sekhukhune United 3-0 to reach the final for a fifth successive year.

The Buccaneers also defeated Sekhukhune in their most recent Betway Premiership match, recording a 2-0 victory at Orlando Amstel Arena seven days ago.

Kruger United, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win since entering the top flight. They have played four matches this season, losing three and drawing one.

Their most recent result was a 2-0 defeat by Durban City.

Kruger United start with Ntwari in goal, behind a defensive line of Mukumela, Sibiya, Mohamme and Seedat. Nel and Tavengwa are also included, while Makhubela, Mphothe, Malatjie and Zwane complete the starting XI.

Kruger United’s substitutes are Dandjinou, Ndlela, Sibanyoni, Ndlovu, Thwala, Matima, Makhubu, Mngonyama and Mahlangu.

Orlando Pirates make several of their squad numbers clear in their selected team. Chaine starts in goal, with Sebelebele, Seema, Zulu and Ndaba named in defence.

Mthiyane, Mokobodi and Dansin are also selected, while Moremi, Lungu and Radiopane make up the remainder of the Pirates line-up.

The Orlando Pirates substitutes are Dladla, Xoki, Rapoo, Hotto, Selepe, Masilela, Padime, Appollis and Mbuthuma.

The fixture gives the reigning champions an opportunity to continue their league campaign after their progress in the MTN8, while Kruger United will be seeking a result that would bring their first victory of the season.
