Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula is suspended and will not be available when his outfit take on Cape Town City in the South African Premier League.
The 35-year-old has recorded his fourth yellow card of the season against Magesi FC, making him unavailable for the upcoming clash scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
The midfielder is serving one-match domestic ban which rules him out of the much-anticipated clash against Cape Town City.
Makhaula has been outstanding for Orlando Pirates this season and his absence come as a huge blow for the club.
Orlando Pirates manager Jose Riveiro will turn to Miguel Timm or Azola Tshobeni as replacement for the influential midfielder.
Makhaula has racked up 21 appearances for the Buccaneers across competitions this season. His defensive skills will be missed in the game against City.
Pirates will hope to overcome Cape Town City at the DHL Stadium, with both teams aiming to claim crucial points.
Makhaula is expected to return for Pirates’ CAF Champions League fixture against CR Belouizdad at Orlando Stadium on January 12.
