Kabelo Dlamini set to join Stellenbosch FC

Orlando Pirates midfielder Kabelo Dlamini is reportedly set to join Stellenbosch FC ahead of the new football campaign.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder, who has struggled for regular game time at Pirates this season, is expected to continue his career in the Cape Winelands after falling down the pecking order at the Soweto giants.

Dlamini, once regarded as one of the most technically gifted midfielders in the Betway Premiership, has found opportunities limited with the Sea Robbers and is now set for a fresh start at Stellenbosch FC.

As part of the proposed agreement, Stellenbosch FC duo Faiz Abrahams and Dublin Boon are expected to join Orlando Pirates. Both players have been standout performers for the Stellies DDC side and have attracted attention following strong performances in the development ranks.

Abrahams, who has also featured for South Africa’s U-20 national team, has already had exposure to senior football under coach Steve Barker, making three appearances for the club’s first team in the PSL. Boon, meanwhile, is still awaiting his senior debut but is highly rated within the Stellenbosch setup as a promising goalkeeper for the future.

The deal is believed to be at an advanced stage, with only official confirmation from both clubs remaining before it is finalized.

If completed, the move would represent a significant reshuffle between two Betway Premiership sides, with Pirates adding youthful depth while Stellenbosch secure an experienced midfield option in Dlamini.
