Orlando Pirates loanee helps Real Native move second as Hope FC return to winning ways

Real Native moved up to second in the Championship after a 2-0 victory over Venda FC, with Orlando Pirates loanee Lungelo Dondolo among the scorers.

Dondolo opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Leletu Skelem added a second to maintain his impressive start to the campaign.

Skelem now has three goals in three matches, while the win lifted Real Native to second place in the league standings.

Highbury FC and Gomora United shared the points after playing out a goalless draw on Friday afternoon.

The Bees FC recorded their first victory of the season at the fifth attempt, beating Lerumo Lions 1-0. Mlungisi Skosana scored the decisive goal in the 25th minute.

North West University remain without a win in the Championship after being held to a 0-0 draw by Cape Town City. The newly promoted side have scored only two goals in their opening five matches.

Upington City and University of Pretoria produced a six-goal thriller, drawing 3-3.

The hosts took control inside the opening 10 minutes as Simphiwe Mambane and Palelo Mafuyeka put them two goals ahead. University of Pretoria responded with goals from Roy Keane Avontuur, Aphelele Teto and Leandro de Sousa to move in front.

Mambane then completed his brace from the penalty spot in the 80th minute, earning Upington City a share of the points.

Hope FC returned to winning ways in the Championship with a 1-0 victory against Orbit College on Saturday afternoon.

Manelisi Ralasi scored the only goal of the match in the 93rd minute.

Leicesterford City climbed to third place after defeating Midlands Wanderers 1-0. Sipho Zwane struck in the 29th minute to secure maximum points.

Magesi’s perfect start to the season ended with a 1-1 draw against Hungry Lions.

The Limpopo side remain top of the table despite dropping points and are still unbeaten this campaign. Hungry Lions sit sixth heading into the FIFA break.
