Orlando Pirates linked with Burkina Faso striker Djibril Ouattara
Burkina Faso centre-forward Djibril Ouattara, who plays for Rwanda’s APR FC, has been linked with a move to South African side Orlando Pirates.
The proposed switch would take the 27-year-old to the Betway Premiership, with the rumour emerging on 8 October 2026. Ouattara has scored four goals in three appearances for APR FC this season, finding the net twice in one Rwanda BK Pro League match and twice in two CAF Champions League games.
He joined APR FC from Algerian club JS Kabylie on 23 January 2025, completing the move as a free transfer. The forward had previously represented Morocco’s Renaissance de Berkane, where he won the CAF Super Cup in the 2022-23 season.
Ouattara’s performances in continental competition form part of his current record for APR FC, where he has started both of his CAF Champions League matches. He has also made one league appearance, scoring twice.
The rumour does not include a reported transfer fee or probability, and there has been no confirmation that negotiations have taken place. Ouattara remains an APR FC player while the reported link with Orlando Pirates remains unconfirmed.
