Orlando Pirates legend Moeneeb Josephs is not in support of coach Rulani Mokwena’s proposed return to the club as he believes he will not be a good choice for the club.
The Soweto giants are in the hunt of a new coach as current tactician Jose Riveiro is set to leave the club at the end of the season. Since his arrival in 2022, the Spanish coach has stolen the limelight with his distinctive, attacking style of football that has brought him so much success.
Reports in the media suggest that Orlando Pirates could make a move to bring back Rulani Mokwena as a replacement for outgaining Riveiro.
But Josephs, who is a legend at Orlando Pirates thinks otherwise.
“If we’re looking to bring Rulani Mokwena back at Pirates, as good as he is, why should we wear old shoes again?… From what I remember, when Mokwena was at Pirates, there were a whole lot of issues and tantrums, and our supporters were not too happy about that, It was boiling when he and Micho were there, the relationship they had, and the way he left, for me, that left a sour taste.”
Rulani Mokwena has struggled with Wydad Casablanca this season and is expcted to depart the club when the campaign comes to an end.
