South African football club Orlando Pirates have marked their history with the launch of their first-ever commemorative coin.
The limited-edition collectible has been crafted from 99.99% pure silver, with only 2,500 pieces being produced.
The coin is officially licensed by Orlando Pirates and has been presented as a special item celebrating the club and its supporters.
The release adds a new piece of memorabilia to the history of one of South Africa’s most recognisable football clubs.
Orlando Pirates said the commemorative coin was created for “the people who made the club what it is today”, highlighting the role supporters have played in the club’s identity and development.
With production restricted to 2,500 pieces, the coin is positioned as a limited collectible for Pirates supporters and football memorabilia enthusiasts.
The launch combines the club’s football heritage with a physical collector’s item designed to preserve and celebrate its history.
Orlando Pirates, founded in 1937, are one of South Africa’s most successful and widely supported clubs, with a long history in domestic and continental football.
The commemorative coin provides another way for supporters to connect with that history while marking a new chapter in the club’s memorabilia collection.
