Orlando Pirates issue injury update before Durban City clash

Orlando Pirates will be without four players for Thursday’s Betway Premiership meeting with Durban City, while Gamphani Lungu and Andre de Jong face late fitness tests.

The Buccaneers are due to host the Citizens at Orlando Amstel Arena, with kick-off scheduled for 19:30.

Pirates have confirmed that Thalente Mbatha, Evidence Makgopa, Sihle Nduli and Mohau Nkota remain unavailable as they continue their respective recoveries.

Lungu and de Jong could still feature, but their involvement will not be decided until they undergo late assessments. The club will make a final decision on both players’ availability after those fitness tests.

The Soweto club will go into the match looking to continue its impressive run of form and claim a fourth consecutive league victory.

Durban City, meanwhile, will be seeking a positive result as they aim to build confidence and make an impact in the Premiership.
