Orlando Pirates gaffer Abdeslam Ouaddou named Coach of the Month in South African top-flight

Orlando Pirates tactician Abdeslam Ouaddou has been crowned South African premier League Coach of the Month for the September-October period.

The Soweto giants has been in an impressive form this season, managing to compete pound for pound with defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sundowns’ dominance in the South African top-flight has been unmatched for the past six seasons and the resurgence of Pirates under Ouaddou is proof that Sundowns dominance is slowly slipping away.

Following an outstanding display over the past two months, Ouaddou, who joined Pirates before the start of the current campaign has been adjudged Coach of the Month.

The former Wydad Casablanca trainer received the award after guiding his outfit to three wins out of three games for the September-October period.

Orlando Pirates are currently second on the South African Premier League standings, accumulating 22 points, two points adrift of leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

Meanwhile, Pirates are two matches behind Sundowns and could overtake them at the top if they are able to secure victories in their outstanding games.
