South Africa head coach Hugo Broos has eulogized Orlando Pirates defender Nkosinathi Sibisi following an outstanding performance during the June international break.
The enterprising defender was involved the Bafana Bafana friendlies against Tanzania and Mozambique this month.
He produced a top-class performance as his outfit played out a 0-0 draw against Tanzania New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, followed by a 2-0 win over Mozambique.
Despite omitting Mamelodi Sundowns players for the games, the Bafana Bafana lived up to expectations in the games.
After the recent 2-0 win, the Belgian coach praised Orlando Pirates defender Nkosinathi Sibisi for his leadership in the game.
“True leadership isn’t about constant talking,” Broos responded regarding team captaincy.
“Some captains speak excessively, but Ronwen [Williams] and Sibisi lead differently. Their quiet presence commands universal respect.
“Ronwen’s qualities are obvious, but Sibisi’s leadership potential went unnoticed initially. He’s been with us since my arrival – the ultimate professional.
“His conduct and attitude earn teammates’ respect. Observe him – during these ten days with us, you’ll notice his silent leadership.
“Today’s decision to make him captain was correct. With him not playing Friday, we needed balanced leadership across both squads.”
