Head coach of Orlando Pirates Jose Riveiro has set sights on securing victory in his final Soweto derby to be held at the iconic FNB Stadium.
Kaizer Chiefs will play host to Orlando Pirates in a highly competitive South African Premier League clash on Saturday. It promises to be a thrilling encounter as both teams will be yearning for maximum points.
It is important to note Jose Riveiro will be playing his final game at the FNB Stadium this weekend as he is set to depart Orlando Pirates at the end of the season.
However, the Spanish gaffer has targeted victory in his final game at the iconic stadium, as he prepare to end his three year spell in South Africa.
“We’re striving for victory. It’s important for us and for our fans. We need to get back to our previous level. We understand the full responsibility [in the Soweto derby], we are a team of winners. This is my last derby at FNB. This place is special not only for me, but also for the players,” Riveiro told the club’s press service.
Meanwhile, Riveiro has eulogized the South African top-flight league, insisting it has changed his life.
“Personally, this league has changed my life. I am impressed by the league, not just my players. It’s a pleasure to have such talented footballers. I always tell them that they make me happy when I get to manage such talent” he said.
