Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is trusting the club’s board to keep in-demand South African forward Relebohile Mofokeng ahead of the new season.
The 20-year-old attacker has been at the center of intense transfer speculation following an impressive campaign for Orlando Pirates during the 2024/25 football campaign.
Mofokeng performed admirably for Orlando Pirates in the recently concluded campaign, scoring five goals and providing eight assists in 26 appearances in the South African top-flight.
Orlando Pirates have already kicked off their new season with a quarter-final clash against Polokwane City in the MTN8, with Mofokeng playing a part in the match.
However, coach Abdeslam Ouaddou insists Mofokeng is absolutely essential for Orlando Pirates heading into the new season, highlighting the importance of the forward to the team.
“With such a talented player, of course, many clubs will be interested, but I trust my board of directors, I trust the club, because he’s without a doubt one of our key players this season. We need him to compete at the highest level—we need players like him in our squad,” said the Orlando Pirates boss.
Since 2023, Relebohile Mofokeng has made 90 appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals and providing 22 assists in the Betway Championship.
