Orlando Pirates boosted by Kamogelo Sebelebele and Sipho Mbule return ahead of Richards Bay clash
Orlando Pirates have received a timely boost ahead of their crucial Betway Premiership clash against Richards Bay FC on Wednesday night.
The Buccaneers will welcome back key players Kamogelo Sebelebele and Sipho Mbule as they aim to strengthen their push at the top of the league standings.
Pirates currently sit first on the PSL table with 44 points, and the return of the duo provides a significant lift as they continue their battle with defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who remain determined to retain their league crown.
Sebelebele, who has been in impressive form for the Sea Robbers this season, is once again available for selection after serving a one-match suspension. The winger missed Pirates’ recent trip to Polokwane but is now back in contention to feature against Richards Bay.
“Their mission has been boosted by the availability of the in-form Kamogelo Sebelebele, who is eligible for selection after sitting out the trip to Polokwane through a one-match suspension,” the club said.
The Buccaneers have also been strengthened by the return of midfielder Sipho Mbule, who is back in the matchday picture after spending a brief period away from the starting line-up.
“Midfielder Sipho Mbule is meanwhile back in contention for a place in the match day squad after a brief spell on the sidelines,” the statement added.
The return of both players could provide Pirates with additional creativity and attacking options as they prepare for what could be a tricky encounter against Richards Bay.
With the Betway Premiership title race heating up, every point will be crucial for the Soweto giants as they seek to maintain their lead at the summit of the table.
A victory over Richards Bay would further strengthen Pirates’ position and keep pressure on Sundowns, while reinforcing their ambitions of lifting the league title at the end of the season.
For the Sea Robbers, the timing of Sebelebele and Mbule’s return could prove decisive as they look to continue their strong run and solidify their hold at the top of South African football.
