Orlando Pirates announce star-studded 2026 preseason tour in Spain

South African giants Orlando Pirates have unveiled their 2026 preseason tour schedule, with the Buccaneers set to embark on a two-week training camp in Spain ahead of the new campaign.

The tour, scheduled for 11 July to 25 July 2026, will see Orlando Pirates base their preparations in Marbella, where they will combine intensive training sessions with a series of high-profile friendly matches against clubs from Europe and the Middle East.

The Soweto giants have lined up five preseason fixtures as part of their preparations, beginning with a clash against Spanish side Córdoba CF on Wednesday, 15 July 2026 at the Marbella Football Center. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00.

Pirates will then face Cádiz CF on Saturday, 18 July 2026, with the venue and kick-off time to be confirmed.

The Buccaneers will continue their European preparations with a meeting against Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad Club on Tuesday, 21 July 2026 at the Banús Football Center, with the match set to begin at 19:00.

Their fourth preseason encounter will come against Las Palmas on Wednesday, 22 July 2026 at the Marbella Football Center, again kicking off at 19:00.

The final match of the tour will see Orlando Pirates take on Saudi Arabian outfit Neom SC on Friday, 24 July 2026 at the Estepona Football Center, with kick-off set for 19:00.

The preseason trip forms part of the club’s broader strategy to ensure the squad is fully prepared for the demands of the upcoming season. Facing opponents from different footballing backgrounds is expected to provide valuable tests for the players and technical team ahead of competitive action.

The Marbella camp will also offer head coach and his staff an opportunity to assess new signings, fine-tune tactical approaches, and build match fitness before the start of the campaign.
