DIVOCK ORIGI TO COMPLETE LILLE LOAN DESPITE LIVERPOOL’S OFFENSIVE STRUGGLES
Despite mounting pressure due to Liverpool’s offensive struggles, Brendan Rodgers has ruled out an early return for Divock Origi, confirming the Belgian striker will remain at Lille until the end of the 2014/2015 season.
The 19-year-old, signed by Liverpool in the summer and immediately loaned back to Lille, has been in regular contact with the Reds’ staff. Rodgers emphasized that Origi is very much part of Liverpool’s long-term plans.
“We are in regular contact with this boy,” Rodgers explained. “He has a very great talent. When he plays in France, we receive match downloads, analyze his performances, and give him feedback on what to improve and what he does very well.”
Development in Progress
Rodgers underlined the club’s belief that by next summer, Origi will be ready to integrate seamlessly into Liverpool’s system:
“When he joins us next summer, he will be ready, and we will know the strong points in his game. In the meantime, we hope that he continues to improve.”
With Liverpool struggling to find the net following Luis Suárez’s departure and Daniel Sturridge’s injuries, speculation had grown that Origi might be recalled early. But for now, the Reds are focused on his long-term development, giving him time to grow in Ligue 1 before taking on the Premier League.
