FC Heidenheim right-back Omar Traoré is in doubt for the crucial Conference League second leg against FC Copenhagen after sustaining a knee bruise in the 2-0 defeat to FSV Mainz 05.
The 27-year-old has been unable to train this week, putting his availability for Thursday’s match at risk.
“Traoré got a blow in the game below the knee. He has a bruise and was therefore unable to train yesterday,” head coach Frank Schmidt revealed in a press conference. Despite the setback, the final training session will determine if he can make the squad. “We have to test in the final training whether it will reach until tomorrow,” Schmidt added.
Beyond the European fixture, Heidenheim also has to monitor Traoré’s condition ahead of their Bundesliga showdown with RB Leipzig on Sunday. The club will take a cautious approach, ensuring the defender is fully fit before making a decision on his involvement in both matches.
