Omar Marmoush set to join Tottenham from Manchester City in reported €64m deal

Egypt international Omar Marmoush is set to leave Manchester City for Tottenham this summer, with the transfer expected to be completed after a medical and the signing of contracts within the next 48 hours, according to transfer journalist Nicolo Schira.

The reported agreement is worth €64m, including add-ons, and would see Marmoush sign a contract with Tottenham running until 2031.

The deal is part of an ambitious double move Tottenham are negotiating with Manchester City. The London club have also reached an agreement to sign Brazilian forward Savinho, with the combined value of the two transfers expected to be £140m.

Tottenham are working on both deals at the same time and are confident the remaining formalities can be completed during the week.

Marmoush is viewed as a key part of Tottenham’s plans to rebuild their attack under manager Roberto De Zerbi. The Egypt forward joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025, but now appears set to make another move after a relatively short spell at the club.

He watched Manchester City’s dramatic victory over Bournemouth from the substitutes’ bench on Sunday, as negotiations over his future continued.

Schira’s report follows information published by fellow transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano on Sunday. Romano said the clubs had agreed a deal that would initially see Marmoush move to Tottenham on loan, with the transfer becoming a mandatory purchase if certain conditions were met.

Eintracht Frankfurt are also waiting for the transfer to be completed because they are due to receive 15% of the fee paid by Tottenham for Marmoush.

Marmoush joined Manchester City after impressing at Eintracht Frankfurt and has made 62 appearances for the English club. He has scored 16 goals and provided six assists during that time.

He has won both the FA Cup and the English League Cup with Manchester City.

Tottenham’s need to strengthen their attacking options comes after a difficult start to their Premier League campaign. They opened the season with a 3-0 defeat by Brentford on Saturday.

The proposed move would make Marmoush one of the leading figures in Tottenham’s attacking rebuild, while the simultaneous pursuit of Savinho would represent a major investment in the squad. The club are now focused on completing the medical examinations, contract process and other outstanding steps before the end of the week.
