Omar Marmoush gives Tottenham fresh attacking option before Newcastle clash

Omar Marmoush is set to make his Tottenham Hotspur debut against Newcastle, with manager Roberto De Zerbi describing the Egypt forward as an “amazing player” and backing him to provide a new attacking dimension as the London club seek to recover from a disastrous start to the season.

Marmoush joined Tottenham from Manchester City on loan until the end of the campaign, with the club retaining the option to sign him permanently. Marmoush’s potential first appearance for Tottenham comes against an opponent he has regularly troubled during his time at Manchester City. He scored seven goals in five matches against Newcastle, giving him a notable record in this fixture and an opportunity to make an immediate impression on his new club’s supporters.

Tottenham are in urgent need of an attacking spark after suffering a heavy defeat in their opening Premier League match. They were beaten 3-0 by Brentford despite the significant transfer spending overseen by the club during the window.
