Former Auxerre midfielder **Omar Kossoko** has signed with **FC Mantois 78**, the CFA (French fourth division) club confirmed.
The **27-year-old Franco-Beninese** has been without a club since leaving Bulgarian side **Litex Lovech** last summer, but has now opted to return home to **Mantes-la-Jolie**, where he was born.
Currently sixth in **CFA Group A**, just three points off the top, Mantois are chasing promotion to the **National League**. The addition of Kossoko, who brings top-flight experience, is seen as a significant boost.
“Following several injuries, Omar has chosen to help the club play a leading role in the CFA. He needs to get some playing time back and enjoy himself again,” a source close to the deal told *Footafrica365.fr*.
Kossoko began his professional career at **Amiens SC**, where his performances in Ligue 2 earned him a move to **Auxerre**. He made **19 Ligue 1 appearances** during the 2011-12 season before stints at **Servette de Genève** in Switzerland and Litex Lovech in Bulgaria.
A former French youth prospect, Kossoko later switched allegiance to represent **Benin at international level**, winning **seven caps**.
For Mantois, his signing represents both a homecoming and a statement of ambition as they look to mount a promotion push in the second half of the season.
