Omar El Saaiy is on the verge of joining Al Masry on loan for a full season after Al Ahly agreed in principle to release the talented midfielder.
According to a club source who spoke with Kooora, discussions between Al Masry president Kamel Abu Ali and Al Ahly chief Mahmoud Al-Khatib led to a proposal for a permanent transfer of El Saaiy. However, Al-Khatib rejected the offer, instead approving a temporary move.
“One point that separates the transformation of the agreement into a contract and the end of all matters is waiting for the position of the Spanish Jose Riveiro, the technical director of the team for Al-Ahly, in his meeting with Al-Khatib on Saturday, in terms of agreeing to include Ahmed Eid, the right-back of the Port Said team to be more like a mutual deal,” the source said.
The potential swap deal follows the January move of Al-Ahly midfielder Mustafa Abu al-Khair to Al-Masry, marking the first direct transfer between both clubs since 2012.
