Omar El Amrani has completed a move to Al-Rams SC, joining the United Arab Emirates club on a free transfer after a spell without a team. The 24-year-old Moroccan striker arrives as a permanent signing from the status of free agent, with his contract at Al-Rams SC officially starting on 2026-02-06 and running until an undisclosed end date.
The deal sees Al-Rams SC pick up a left-footed centre-forward with experience in both Moroccan and Spanish football, without paying a transfer fee. El Amrani had been listed as “Without Club” since leaving Spanish side CFJ Mollerussa, making this a low-risk acquisition for the Emirati outfit as they look to bolster their attacking options.
Before becoming a free agent, El Amrani’s most recent club was CFJ Mollerussa in Spain, whom he joined from Moroccan side MAS Fès in the 24/25 season. His market value was last officially recorded at €10,000 during his time at MAS Fès and then at €0 after his move to CFJ Mollerussa, underlining how his stock had dipped prior to this latest transfer. No transfer fee has been reported for his switch to Al-Rams SC, consistent with his free-agent status.
Born in Tanger and holding Moroccan nationality, El Amrani has built a varied early career across two continents. After developing at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Morocco, he moved to Spain in 2019 to join Málaga CF U19. He progressed to Málaga CF’s senior setup in 2020, then spent time on loan at Juventud Torremolinos CF in early 2021 before returning to Málaga later that year. In 2021 he left Spain for a first spell back home with Raja Club Athletic, later transferring to MAS Fès in 2023 and then rejoining Spanish football with CFJ Mollerussa in early 2025.
The striker’s primary position is in attack, operating as a central forward and favouring his left foot. Standing 1.80m tall, he offers a profile suited to link-up play and penalty-box presence, attributes Al-Rams SC will hope to harness in their domestic campaign. While his market value figures from Morocco suggest he was previously rated as a modest asset, his journey through clubs in both Morocco and Spain indicates that he has been trusted in professional environments across different football cultures.
El Amrani’s latest move also represents another step in the growing trend of Moroccan players heading to the Gulf region. By signing for Al-Rams SC, he continues his overseas career and is now set to play his club football in the United Arab Emirates rather than in his home country. For Al-Rams SC, adding a Moroccan-trained forward with European experience provides depth and an element of international flavour to their squad.
With his contract now in effect from 2026-02-06, El Amrani will aim to re-establish his value and secure regular minutes after his period without a club. How he adapts to his new surroundings and competition in the UAE will go a long way to determining the next phase of a career that has already taken him from Tanger to Spain, back to Morocco, and now to Al-Rams SC.
