Oman’s Gulf Cup 27 fixtures, group standings and broadcast channels confirmed

Oman will begin their campaign at the Arabian Gulf Cup 27 in Saudi Arabia, with the tournament scheduled to take place from 23 September to 6 October 2026.

The competition offers Oman an opportunity to respond after they failed to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup, a disappointment that left supporters frustrated. The team will be aiming to win the Gulf Cup for a third time, having previously lifted the trophy in 2009 and 2017.

This will be Oman’s 25th appearance in the tournament, following participation in 24 previous editions.

Gulf Cup 27 format

The tournament features eight teams, divided into two groups of four. The draw was conducted using four seeding levels, with one team from each level allocated to every group.

Each side will play three matches in the group stage, with the fixtures held on a single round-robin basis.

Group A contains Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman and Kuwait. The section is regarded as one of the most closely balanced in the tournament because of the comparable level and experience of the four teams.

Group B consists of United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Yemen, with all four teams competing for a place in the knockout stage.

The top two teams in each group will reach the semi-finals. The winners of Group A will face the runners-up from Group B, while the winners of Group B will play the runners-up from Group A.

The two semi-final winners will then meet in the final to decide the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup champions.

Oman’s group fixtures

Oman’s listed group-stage schedule begins against Iraq on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, at 20:30 Saudi Arabia time and 21:30 United Arab Emirates time at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium. The match result is recorded as 1-1.

The second fixture is against Saudi Arabia on Saturday, 26 September 2026, with kick-off at 22:00 in Saudi Arabia and 23:00 in the United Arab Emirates. It will be played at King Abdullah Sports City.

Oman’s final group match is against Kuwait on Tuesday, 29 September 2026. The game is scheduled for 23:30 Saudi Arabia time and 00:30 United Arab Emirates time, again at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium.
