Florian Thauvin made his debut in OM’s colors after a lively transfer. However, coach Elie Baup acknowledged that the former Lille player was not physically ready for the match. Baup explained his decision to field Thauvin, stating, “I know he needs to play. He trained a lot, ran a lot, but he hardly participated in the preparation matches. I know he is not ready, but he needs to get back to competition temperature. I am not disappointed with his performance.”
Baup emphasized the mental aspect and the need for collective effort in their playing style, stating, “We have to look for things mentally; we need to work a lot because our project involves a lot of complementarity. Recovering the ball, pressing is collective.”
As a result of the match, PSG claimed the provisional leadership in Ligue 1 with 11 points, ahead of Monaco with 10 points (with one game in hand), and OM also on 10 points.
