Steve Mandanda and Jérémy Morel Injured Ahead of OM’s Upcoming Fixtures
Olympique de Marseille’s captain and goalkeeper, Steve Mandanda, has been sidelined from training on Tuesday due to discomfort in his right hip. According to L’Equipe, Mandanda is currently receiving treatment and is expected to return to full training within the next 48 hours.
In addition to Mandanda’s injury, OM left-back Jérémy Morel is also dealing with a setback following a heavy tackle to his right ankle during the team’s 3-2 win over Montpellier on Friday. Morel has been diagnosed with a right adductor injury and is expected to be sidelined for at least ten days. He will miss Sunday’s Ligue 1 matchday 34 clash against Lille due to suspension, which could offer him a bit of rest during his recovery.
Both injuries add to the challenges facing Olympique de Marseille as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures in the final stretch of the season. With key players dealing with fitness issues, manager Jorge Sampaoli will need to make strategic decisions regarding squad rotations.
