Transferred on loan to FC Sochaux for the remainder of the season from Marseille, striker Jordan Ayew has expressed his intention to return to his former club once his loan spell concludes.
“I will come back to OM. My journey with this club is not yet finished, and I am determined to leave a lasting impact here. The club’s leaders are aware of my desire,” stated the Ghanaian international during an interview with beIN SPORTS on Tuesday evening.
Currently focused on helping Sochaux avoid relegation from Ligue 1 under the guidance of manager Hervé Renard, Ayew remains committed to his temporary club’s cause. Success in this endeavor could also enhance his chances of being selected for Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, for the 2014 World Cup.
“The priority for me was to secure regular playing time. In order to stake a claim for a spot in the World Cup squad, I made the decision to join Sochaux,” Ayew explained.
With his contract at Marseille running until 2015, Ayew’s immediate focus is on his responsibilities at Sochaux, but his long-term commitment to returning to Marseille remains unwavering.
