Giannelli Imbula Could Leave Marseille This Summer Amid Strong Interest
Giannelli Imbula, the young French midfielder of Congolese origin, is attracting significant attention ahead of the 2015 summer transfer window, which has yet to officially open.
Marseille is looking to cash in on the 22-year-old talent, aiming to recover at least €20 million from his sale. According to La Provence, Valencia currently leads the race and is reportedly ready to meet this valuation. However, Inter Milan has also recently entered the fray, showing interest in the former Guingamp player.
Imbula is under contract with OM until June 2018, and the club views his transfer as a key opportunity to offset a €30 million deficit this summer. His impressive performances this past season have significantly boosted his market value, making him one of the top transfer targets, especially following the collapse of negotiations for Manchester City’s Yaya Touré.
A move for Imbula seems increasingly likely as Marseille looks to balance their books while the midfielder seeks a step up in his career.
