Olympique de Marseille is set to face Valenciennes this Saturday in the 3rd day of Ligue 1, and it seems the Marseille club has had a challenging time with trips to the north in recent years. This hasn’t been a favored location for Olympique de Marseille.
However, they face additional challenges as Giannelli Imbula may not be available for the upcoming match. The defensive midfielder, who left the pitch during the halftime break in the victory against Evian-Thonon (2-0) on the 2nd day of Ligue 1, is dealing with a sprained ankle. Although Imbula ran with the group at the start of the session on Thursday, he expressed doubts about his availability for the Valenciennes match, stating, “I think it will be difficult for me to be present against Valenciennes.”
According to the official Olympique de Marseille website, Imbula performed laps of the field alone while the rest of the group engaged in ball work during the training session. As a result, he is likely to miss the match against Valenciennes on Saturday.
