Olympique de Marseille’s goalkeeper, Steve Mandanda, has acknowledged that he is not performing at his best level following the team’s recent defeats against PSG. Mandanda, a French international of Congolese origin, expressed his commitment to working hard to regain his form and efficiency. Despite his struggles, Mandanda receives full support from his teammate, Souleymane Diawara, who emphasized that the entire team is currently facing challenges.
“In other circumstances, I’ve been better than that. I don’t necessarily have any explanations. The only thing to do is to work to try to become decisive and efficient again (…) I am not more worried than that,” Mandanda stated.
Regarding Mandanda’s situation, Diawara highlighted that while the goalkeeper might be facing a difficult period, he remains a great player. Diawara also reflected on his own situation, acknowledging that if he is not playing, it’s likely due to some shortcomings, and he needs to work on improving.
“In my place, some would have lost their tempers. I wonder what I should do to change things. If I’m not playing, it’s because I must have some shortcomings. When I came back, I felt like I was okay, but it was just a feeling. I wasn’t at my best,” Diawara explained.
