OM: Bielsa Defends Barrada After Underwhelming Performance Against Nantes
Abdelaziz Barrada has yet to make a convincing impact at Olympique de Marseille, and his latest outing against Nantes on Friday—Matchday 15 of Ligue 1—did little to change that perception. The Moroccan midfielder delivered another lackluster performance, raising concerns about his current form.
However, Marcelo Bielsa is not ready to give up on him. The Marseille coach showed his trademark loyalty and patience, urging time and consistency for Barrada to find his rhythm.
“Obviously, he has trouble playing a whole match,” said Bielsa. “He has already played against Bordeaux. In both matches, I think he played at roughly the same level. It’s by accumulating matches that his level of play will rise.”
With the Argentinian tactician backing him, Barrada could be given more chances to prove himself in the coming weeks.
