Abdelaziz Barrada: “Still Tired, But Proud to Be at OM”
After months of waiting, Abdelaziz Barrada finally made his first Ligue 1 start with Olympique de Marseille during the recent OM vs Bordeaux clash. The Moroccan midfielder played 73 minutes in what he described as a physically demanding but satisfying return to competitive football.
🗣️ Speaking to La Provence, Barrada said:
“Honestly, I’m still a bit tired! It’s been a long time since I played a match of such intensity… I finished on my knees, but I’m really happy to have played 73 minutes. With the victory at the end, it was perfect.”
Although he’s not yet a regular starter, Barrada remains positive and grateful for his role at the club:
“It’s not easy because when you don’t play, you inevitably lose rhythm… But it’s a source of pride to be on the bench of Olympique de Marseille, a very big club in Europe.”
Despite limited playing time, the Atlas Lion is committed to seizing every opportunity:
“I’m happy to come on for 10-15 minutes when the coach calls on me. I’m really very happy to be part of this group because I feel that I’m progressing.”
Barrada’s patience and team spirit may yet earn him a bigger role in Marcelo Bielsa’s side as the season progresses.
