André Ayew to Face Disciplinary Hearing Over Incident in Marseille-Nice Match
Marseille midfielder André Ayew is set to appear before the Professional Football League’s disciplinary committee following his return from the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers with Ghana.
The 25-year-old Ghanaian international has come under scrutiny after an incident during Marseille’s recent Ligue 1 clash against Nice. Upon reviewing the match footage, league officials determined that Ayew struck Nice forward Dario Cvitanich in the legs, an act that could lead to sanctions.
In a related development, Dario Cvitanich has also been summoned by the disciplinary committee. The Argentine striker faces allegations regarding a separate incident involving Olympique Marseille’s Alaixys Romao during the same fixture.
Both players are scheduled to present their cases on 25 September, with the Professional Football League expected to issue a ruling soon after.
This hearing marks a critical moment for Ayew, who has been a key figure for Marseille this season, and whose disciplinary record will be closely watched amid the club’s campaign.
