OC Safi looking for a new head coach

Another managerial shake-up appears imminent in the Moroccan top flight, with Olympique Safi moving closer to parting ways with Tunisian coach Chokri Khatoui following a disappointing run of results.

The latest setback came in a defeat to Hassania Agadir in the 18th round of the Botola Pro Inwi, further intensifying pressure on the Safi-based side’s technical bench.

Sources close to the club indicate that management is preparing to make a final decision within hours, as they seek a new coach capable of steering the team back on course during the crucial stages of the season.

Khatoui was appointed on February 25, taking over from Zakaria Aboub, but his tenure has failed to deliver the desired impact. Across 13 matches in all competitions, the team struggled for consistency, recording four defeats, four draws, and just a single league victory, which came against Ittihad Yaacoub Mansour.

On the continental stage, Olympique Safi’s campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup ended in the semi-finals against USM Alger. After a goalless first leg, a 1-1 draw in the return fixture was not enough to secure progression.

Despite that disappointment, the team had earlier shown promise by eliminating Wydad Athletic Club in the quarter-finals, edging past the Casablanca giants on away goals following two closely contested draws.

With results failing to match expectations, Olympique Safi now appear ready to make another bold decision in a season already marked by instability, as they search for a turnaround before it is too late.
