Olympique Khouribga bring in Morocco centre-back Hamza Assabbar

Morocco centre-back Hamza Assabbar has joined Olympique Khouribga, switching from CA Khenifra in a free transfer completed on 12 August.

The 27-year-old defender becomes an Olympique Khouribga player after one season with CA Khenifra. He left the club after arriving there from RCA Zemamra in August 2025, also on a free transfer.

Assabbar was born in Mohammedia and plays primarily at centre-back. His move to Khouribga represents the latest step in a senior career spent entirely in Moroccan football, with the defender having represented clubs across the country’s domestic game.

Before joining CA Khenifra, Assabbar spent the 2024-25 campaign with RCA Zemamra. That move followed his departure from Rapide Oued Zem, where he had played after leaving SCC Mohammedia in August 2023.

His time at SCC Mohammedia came after a spell with the club’s reserve side. He also had loan periods with AS Sale and Sidi Kacem earlier in his career, returning to SCCM Reserve at the conclusion of each temporary move.

Assabbar’s recent competitive record includes appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi, the Excellence Cup and the Coupe du Trone Marocaine. He has also registered an assist in the Moroccan cup competition.

The defender joins an Olympique Khouribga squad after completing his move from CA Khenifra without a transfer fee. Assabbar is now contracted to the Khouribga club following the 12 August switch.
